Ilm Dost: Socratic Math Tutor for Grade 5, Sindh Board
Description
My project focuses on developing a Socratic AI tutoring model for Grade 5 mathematics using generative AI. The aim is to improve how students learn problem-solving by guiding them through questions rather than immediately providing answers. The system explains concepts first and then uses the Socratic method to encourage step-by-step thinking. A key purpose of the project is to support students who cannot attend school, allowing them to learn effectively from home through guided AI instruction. I also evaluated the model’s performance by analyzing answer accuracy and when the final answer was revealed during interactions. The project demonstrates how AI can support more accessible, interactive, and responsible learning environments.
